Game Recognition II

I have been away from WordPress for about a month now. I’m fine, don’t worry about that. I really didn’t know what to write about, so you could say that I had a mental block, but I’m back now. Expect frequent posts again. This is Game Recognition! (previously Indie Recognition). This is where I search far and wide for titles that have just been released, are in development, or titles that I think deserve more than they have already. So, without any more bother, let’s get this under way!

First up we have ‘Robot Roller Derby Disco Dodgeball’… try saying that when you’ve had a few. Well, anyway, this game caught my eye a couple of months ago. It just looks so much fun. It’s basically a futuristic sport where two teams battle it out in a skate park of sorts – maybe it’s a nightclub, I’m not sure – with exploding dodgeballs. It’s absolutely mental, yet brilliant. I have never seen anything like this game, nor do I think I ever will, again. Along with the standard game mode comes Basketball, checkpoint racing and other game modes which make this title that little bit more special. ‘Robot Roller Derby Disco Dodgeball’ brings fun back to multiplayer gaming. Along with the amazing, wacky gameplay, is the compelling soundtrack. You will find yourself getting into the music as much as you get in to the game. 82apps have brought us something special here. You can pick it up on Steam Greenlight now, I think. If not, you can get a key from the website, here: Robot Roller Derby Disco Dodge Ball. If that wasn’t enough to make you want this game, watch this trailer. It is bizarre, yet amazing: DodgeBall!

Kingdom Come Deliverance

Kingdom Come: Deliverance has been dubbed ‘Kickstarters most ambitious game’, and with that, must come an amazing experience, right? Well, if you’re a fan of ‘Game of Thrones’ – who isn’t right – then you will love this, apparently. Warhorse have said that ‘Kingdom Come’ is the ‘Game of Thrones’ without dragons. That sounds quite amazing, right? Well Warhorse have said that this game will be an “action-adventure, role-playing game featuring blockbuster production values, a nonlinear story and revolutionary, first-person melee combat”. Whilst this sounds amazing, the actual game looks amazing. The reason I put it in here is because it sounds amazing, and I think it deserves some recognition before it’s 2015 release. Oh, and if that isn’t enough to make you even want to look at this game, it’s also made with CryEngine, so as you can tell, the game looks fantastic. Here is a trailer just to show you what the game is all about. Prepare to be amazed: Kingdom Come (Thanks to Gamespot for the trailer).

Now, we have a game that I don’t really know much about. I’m sure a lot of people know more than me, but from seeing gameplay of this title, I couldn’t help but feel amazed. In my opinion, Satellite Reign looks to be like XCOM, where you control a group of 4 soldiers, and with XCOM being a really well received title, I can’t see why Satellite Reign can’t do the same. The game is based in a real time universe, with gun battles going on in real time, obviously. Everything comes into play in this universe. You can choose to approach each conflict with brute force, or with complete stealth, it’s up to you. Pedestrians, vehicles and anything else in this universe will get in the way of conflicts, so you really will have to think about what you are doing. The developer 5 Lives Studios released a gameplay video not too long ago. Here it is: Satellite Reign.

So, it’s Wednesday and this is what I promised to do each Wednesday. I also believe this is a good way to get me back into writing, without suffering from any more blocks. Weekend I could be reviewing Titanfall once and for all. So make sure you keep an eye out for that. Thank you for being supportive.
